Granola

1/2 c butter
1 c maple syrup (I used 1/2 real maple and 1/2 honey, plus a little extra)
1 1/2 t vanilla
9 c rolled oats

Optional:
nuts, coconut, raisins, craisins, or other dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg or other spices.
We used walnuts and pecans, plus craisins.

Heat oven to 275.
Bake 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Don't add fruits until almost cooled.
