Happy 1st birthday

To my dolly,
I love you!
Happy birthday girlie. I love you. Have I mentioned that? I certainly do.
What a year this has been!
After your brother Stryder was born, I gave away all my maternity clothes. We were just sure we were not going to have any more children. Then came that old familiar pull-the one that makes me giddy for all things baby and long for another. Your dad and I talked it over. We prayed. We thought things through for a while, and finally we came to a conclusion. Yes, if God will bless us, let us welcome a new baby.

That will forever stand out to me as one of the single best choices of my entire life.

You have brought gratitude and happiness to your dad and I beyond what we have ever known. It is not because the other children were not worthy of the same emotion and adoration, it is because you came along at a later, better time for us. You have different parents than they did. More grateful and relaxed. God allowed us another opportunity to enjoy a baby the way a baby should be savored. To realize the fleeting nature of these precious days with you and to regard them properly, favorably, appropriately, with awe and wonder. His gracious mercy and lovingkindess has been expressed to me through you and I am honored.
Your name could have been Clover Bliss. Clover blissfully bliss, sublime, exquisite joy, bountiful blessing Deutsch. Our every expectation has been exceeded by you, our dolly. You are our icing. Our biological book-end babydoll treat. A sweet, beautiful little girl. I am so glad you were born. What a thrill to be your mommy. I will do my best to mother you well. To love you well, honor you, bless you, encourage you, guide you, teach you, nurture you, and treasure you.
By His grace let me always point you to Him, your glorious Maker.
Ephesians 1:17-19 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.

You mean the world to me Clover True. May I demonstrate that to you, both in word and deed every day and may you always feel cherished, valued, and adored.
Lovingly yours,
Mommy

How tearfully sweet. She is, indeed, icing.
