The Scream:"MOM, SOMETHING IS WRONG! TYDEN HAS ALL THESE PINK SPOTS ON HIS HEAD!"
The Urgent Response:I rush in to Tyden's room to observe with my own eyes these strange, pink spots.
The Questions:
"Tyden, did you color on your head with marker?" No.
"Does your head hurt?" No.
"Does it itch?" No.
The Call:
Me, talking on the phone to Bob who is at work, "Hey, last night while I was at my bookclub meeting, did Tyden play with markers?" No. "Did he get into anything pink?" No.
Bob's helpful answer: Maybe he has chicken pox.
The Horror:
"CHICKEN POX....NOOOOOO! I CAN'T DEAL WITH CHICKEN POX RIGHT NOW!"
The Detective work:
We are in the van, taking Jayla to school, I look back back and see Tyden sitting in his seat, favorite coyboy hat on his head. "Tyden, did you sleep with that hat on last night?" Yes.
The Diagnosis: Mystery cowboy hat disease, covers the forehead of 3 year old boys who refuse to take off costumes before entering slumber.
