Fires and tornadoes and lockdowns...oh my!

All the drills at Jayla's school.
The usual fire and tornado drills have been practiced along with little lessons about....you guessed it, fires and tornadoes.
Now, as an added bonus with the school shootings that have taken place, they have a "lock down drill" and give a little lesson about.....school shootings.
I understand, necessary for the times in which we live, but still not-so-pleasant for this little kindergartner. It's the stuff nightmares are made of, and this one had no shortage of nightmare material already.

We can look at the bright side, it does earn her some more talking and soothing time on the lap of her daddy, as we discuss her fears and how to deal with them.
Plus, for comic relief there is her wacky photo-obsessed mother, acting like the stalker paparazzi snapping pictures to capture the moment.
"Oh Jayla, I understand that's scary." [click, flash] "Do you remember about calling 911 in an emergency?" [click flash] "When you're alone in your room you can always pray to God." [click flash] "Try to think of something else when you're going to sleep." [click flash] Yes, poor Jayla.
