gone. Back to school. And, we are going to miss her. The ringleader, the inventor of pretend play, the one who whipped those boys into shape. They enjoyed having her home last week and I did too.
I want to remember how she made turkey pictures for each person who came over for Thanksgiving....that she packed up backpacks and snacks to go on a "hike" with her brothers outside....how she wanted to help me with all the preparation for company....that she occupied her 2 oldest brothers quietly in the morning, until I got up....that she started feeding the cats by herself....that she is now able to do word searches and crossword puzzles during her quiet play time....
It was so nice to have her home, but I had to let her go again because when I told her she was not allowed to go back to school, she flashed me a "mom, you're so weird" kind of dirty look. What? Can't a mom dream?
Alright, alright....I'll let you go Jayla, but I'll be counting the days until Christmas break and I will miss you while you're away...you can't stop me.
