We're rich!

Now JOTS, it may not be a good idea for you to go around telling your friends, or people at the grocery store this, they might take it the wrong way. But, I will let you in on a little secret. Shhhh. WE ARE RICH. Filthy rich. Gloriously, blissfully rich.

This Christmas, lots of people are spending lots of time and energy thinking about what they will buy for others and what they will receive as gifts. Kids are especially excited about all the new stuff they will get. That's completely understandable, because it's fun to have new toys. Nothing wrong with that, it's natural. However, I want you make no mistake. You are beautifully rich already, before you even unwrap your first gift.
There is not one, single, solitary thing our family has ever, ever needed but lacked. Everything, both big and small, that we have ever needed we have had. Some people, many people around the world do not know where their next meal will come from. Some people are cold, without sufficient heat to warm them. Some moms and dads go without, so their babies can eat. Some children are longing for a home with parents to care for them.
Not you. You have it all, and more. Plenty of nutritious food. Clothes to wear, warm jackets for this cold weather. Even mittens, gloves and hats so you can go out and build snow men. You may take a warm bath every day if you like. You've got beds with cozy quilts, a t.v. with all your favorite movies, warm dinner every night, plenty of milk to drink, books to read, a safe car to ride in.....wow, so much to count. In addition, you are healthy to enjoy it all. What a life!
Be thankful that you are ridiculously rich. Count your blessings this Christmas and try not to be to greedy, always wanting for more, more, more. Your family is wealthy, in really important ways, and your family is full of love for you. That, my little ones is exquisite abundance.
