God's Green Earth

All the talk about global warming, greenhouse effect and so on can be a little scary. What's a God-trusting Christian to do?

We have decided to teach our children to about the earth's preservation and conservation as part of stewardship of the dwelling place our Father has graciously allowed us to utilize. Just as we are responsible to steward our finances, our bodies, and our possesions.
Along with much of the rest of the world, we are going greener. Conserving. Recycling cardboard, plastic, steel, aluminum, junk mail, magazines, cereal boxes, glass. Using fluorescent bulbs. Cleaning with less chemicals. Thinking twice about every paper towel. All of us using the same bath water. I'm kidding. But really, our trash has actually cut back by half with all the recycling.
I'm glad they are growing up learning to think about earth. The beauty of it reminds us of His majesty and His incomprehensible vastness. It is good they are learning to take better care of this glorious creation of God's. Even if we don't for one moment believe we have the authority to actually "save the planet," we can certainly do our part to help maintain it.

Psalm 24:1
The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.
