O and T are leaving tomorrow morning for Padre Island for 14 days. (The good life, eh?) It's no secret that I don't handle separations from the kids very well. It's also no secret that I'm happy for them, sad for me. Sad, sad, sad for me because I will miss them. I'm hyper-attached that way.
Bob and I were discussing this and I told him the hardest part will be just being home without them here. When I'm out, and busy, I won't be missing them as much as when I'm home.
He kindly offered a thoughtful suggestion: We could just live in our van for 2 weeks. Then, the hardship and inconveniences will take precedence in your thoughts. You will be too distracted and annoyed with minivan life to miss them, and you'll never have to come home while they are gone.
Now, there's an option to consider. That Bob, he's always thinking.

You could always go out and gather up some of your neighbor kids - but DON'T DO IT - you need some R&R just for you. R E L A X - I know you don't know what that words means - ask Jayla to look it up for you! Aunt Linda
