It's definitely a 2 person job.

I have octopus envy. I need 8 arms. I'd even be a scary spider if it would afford me an extra 6. If I were a scary spider, I think the kids would listen to me better. Now, as I sit stuck to the couch, nursing a baby, they don't listen to me well at all. I think they know I am unable to get up without malnourshing our new daughter, so it's highly likely I'll stay seated, therefore, they do whatever they want. I'm surprised they didn't say na-na-na-na-naaa to me and stick out their tongues at me today. I would have shook my fist in the air and repeated my new, most favorite phrase for the 112th time...."I am only one person and I only have 2 hands." I even made a song of this special phrase today, a catchy tune.

Bob had to work late tonight, and is not coming home at all because of the snowy weather. We even had supper prepared for us, and it was still hard for me alone.
Now the kids are all in bed, with way more crying and whining and getting back up than they normally do and I am sitting here holding Clover and I am wondering how I am going to do this again....alone....ever....uh, I mean tomorrow. It's a period of adjustment to say the least. But, we will...adjust...painfully adjust...to being back on our own, with daddy's unpredictable schedule, and mommy's lovely songs.

Tomorrow is a new day.

By the way, is it wrong to ask company coming over to meet the baby to fold laundry? Just wondering : )
By the way #2, I totally retract the 12 kids thing. That was a moment of delusion brought on by "vacation brain." I take it back. As far back as it will go.
