After a long and thoroughly irritating morning, I've given over the reins...to Jayla. Jayla, always a busy one...doing this...doing that....orchestrating this...organizing that...bossing her brothers....telling them how to do it...pulling stuff out...rearranging things....trying to be in charge.
Whatever.
Today, I've had enough.
Jayla, you want it, Jayla you've got it.
Yesterday's plans are set for today, we're going to town.
I told her, we're leaving the house at 3:00 pm. Have the boys ready and the house cleaned up when it's time to go.
I want everything tidy, just as I would leave it.
YOU'RE IN CHARGE.
I'm retreating in my room, taking care of Clover and getting myself ready.
We'll see how this goes.
I'm currently just waiting for my tea kettle to sing, then I go back to my solitude+1, with some nice, comforting tea to help my throbbing head and aching stomach brought on by dealing with less-than-ideal kid behavior all morning, including a 6 year old who thinks she is prepared to run the world.

Currently, down their rooms she is telling the boys, "guess what? I'm not going to make you eat carrots."
Oh I hear her coming, saying she's going to empty the dishwasher.
Better go before I get caught, I do hope each of my dishes make it out of this in one piece.

ha! i JUST finished telling my husband about my day with my bossy 6 year old! and how it's definitely going to be an adjustment going from school mode to summer mode. can't wait to hear how your afternoon went!
oh man... i love that carrots comment. was that fabricated because that was just perfect? i wonder if you guys made it out of the house by 3pm... that jayla is pretty good.
