What God is after, is us.
Our laughter, our tears, our dreams, our fears, our heart of hearts.
Remember His lament in Isaiah, those people were performing all their religious duties, yet their hearts were far from Him.
How few of us really believe this. We've never been wanted for our heart, our truest self, not really and not for long. The thought that God wants our heart seems too good to be true.
John Eldredge

We've been taught, even in the church, to perform, to pose, and to pretend because that is how we receive our accolades. When I do this, people really like me. Yet we have a God who created you with a unique DNA of gifts, talents, and skills that are related to a love relationship with Him, of which He wants our hearts.
