Not because he has no comfortable pajamas or even sweat pants he could wear. But, because jeans have belt loops on them. Belt loops are good for holding swords. It's important to be able to put on one's sword the moment one steps out of bed in the morning. You never know what dragons may need slaying at the breakfast table. They probably come for the oatmeal.
