I've been praying for my "enemies" today and whew, I'm exhausted. The list is just so long....
Kidding.
But I do have a couple of challenging situations with people in my life at this time where I am really focusing my attention on loving them, lifting them in prayer, cultivating compassion, and blessing them. It is not easy. I really do have to let go of my "rights" and expectations. For me, it's taking continually reminding myself of what has been sacrificed on my behalf, and how far I am from deserving it....along with the humbling realization that I too am someone's enemy.
Grow up Tisha, grow up.
Matthew 5:44-45 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

I must admit, I haven't read the Shack. Glad to hear you got some heart stuff out of it. Giving up rights and loving our enemies have to be 2 of the most difficult spiritual disciplines there are. Good to see more of what God's doing in your heart.
