As I've recently been studying creation vs evolution, these seem to be the most prevalent arguments made by people who either remain on the fence, so to speak, about God, or have decided to deny His existence.
There is a question that keeps coming to my mind as I gather input from both sides of this argument.
For just a moment, if we were to presume there is a God, perhaps even the God of the Bible, and if we went on to assume that He is actually the creator of heaven and earth, the galaxy, solar system, cosmos, and all of life as we know it, why would we think that He ought to be accountable to us to show Himself in a form that is acceptable in our sight, so that we, as the created, would be willing to give Him credit?
If He were truly omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, holy and divine as Scripture declares, might that be an utterly backwards and upside down approach? Could requiring His compliance with our views of what is right and wrong, good and bad, as a prerequisite for belief in Him be incredibly bold?If it were true, and He really did encompass the fullness of majesty and power beyond our human comprehension, including the capability to create and destroy, should He have to answer to us? Would we, the creation, have any right to offer up what are often half-baked, under- informed excuses for disbelief based in human intellectualism and broad generality, debating His existence with man-made philosophical theories, even if we have not given Him any of our time and effort in an honest, earnest pursuit of truth? If there was a chance, He were The God, what would He think of our unbelief rooted in disapproval of what He has deemed fit for this day, age, and time?
What if He were that powerful?
Would we want to make these types of arguments to His face without first a bit of preparation, beginning with what He says about Himself, human suffering, and His creation?
There is too much suffering.....there is no God. I can't see Him....there is no God.
Those arguments lose validity without first examining His perspective on those issues.
Have any of us seen macro evolution with our own eyes?
I am still wondering as I read from both sides, how many of us have really looked into this, thoroughly?
And, if we have not, do we really have any basis on which to stand, or do we often say He simply cannot be because I just don't agree?
Could it be easy and convenient to avoid a God I do not understand because I have not invested any of my precious time seeking knowledge of Him? Perhaps there are answers after all, for those willing to actually investigate.....even with regard to which God is The Right One.
For those who have extensively researched and decided to hold an atheistic view, at least they know whereof they speak.
For those who have not, there is no solid foundation from which to discuss the subject.

What really floors me is all the science books in the schools that teach Macro evolution as if it were fact. When it has never been observed and is only a "theory". Maybe they should actually present it as such. I also hate watching Discovery channel and also even going to museums who assume "Evolution" is the thruth.
Sorry.. I'm fairly passionate about the subject.
I really enjoyed what Christianity 101 had to say about this...well, in a round about way they talk about this....anyway...you'd really enjoy that read.
In my opinion--Our Father in Heaven loves us. The only way he has of teaching us, is through trials. He is the ultimate planner. He knows what is in store for us. He gives us trials to make us stronger. He wants us to be the strongest, as we are in the last days! What kind of love is that, to prepare us for the last days! I thank Him each and every day for the things I've learned through my trials and challenges. He has taught me a lot about myself and what I am able to endure, when I think I can't go any further! We are so loved!
