Here is one last Dolly-on-the-slide-with-the-hat picture because a) I haven't taken any photos since that day and b)how adorable does she look in that outfit? Simply squeezable.Daddy worked late last night so Jayla and I hung out in our bed and ate grapefruit after the rest of the munchkins were asleep. Then, until he got home I held her hand, watched her sleep and shed real tears. Where does the time go? She's such a young lady these days. Practically ready to move out and get her own place.
I super love being a mommy (in spite of the fact those whippersnappers can drive me bonkers. Of course they can.) So much so, I'll drive around a literal boat load of kids in a huge, white bus-like vehicle, beaming with pride and joy, because I am one amazingly blessed mama indeed.
I just hope I don't back into anything.

Yes, she does look absolutely squeezeable!!! Love the chic outfit! Good luck with the 12 passenger van--I'd be afraid to back into something also! Hope you find a good one though--you're gonna need it for all those extra kiddos!
woo-hoo... this will make sleepovers easier. all the little tykes, even mine, will have a seat of their own in that bus. i'm looking forward to the first field trip together. perhaps the fall festival at miller farms? :)

Hey, Tisha, what do you drive now? You'll get used to the extra length of the Ford Econoline, honest. You just drive with a bit more caution 'cause judging the length is more challenging, and if you're like me, you'll prefer not to parallel park, although it's doable. We had a white Ford Econoline van years ago in Panama.
Actually, ours was "empty" inside, so we bought a neat wooden picnic table where the backs of the benches could fold flat and become the table, so you either had a picnic table with traditional backless bench seat, or you had two benches with backs and no table.
Neil mounted those benches (or that table, however you want to word it) into the rear floor of the Econoline, and we hauled all sorts of kids . . . on benches or on the floor.
That was in the 1981-84 time frame, and it was Panama. No seat belt laws or ANY kind. In fact, the traffic laws themselves were a bit "iffy". Their buses are always FULL, with people literally crammed in the aisles, hanging out the windows, holding on for dear life, and sometimes holding onto their chickens or whatever as well. Our van, therefore, was a model of safety and decorum, comparatively.
Great memories did this evoke!!

See if you can find a back up camera on Ebay! One of those babies literally saved our marriage! I always used to have to help Mike back up our big rig when we are at fairs. After one to many arguments over how far a foot and an inch really are... Mike installed a back up camera and we haven't looke back since! ha ha pardon the pun. It might be looked on favorably by your insurance company too. I don't know. Be sure to blare the tunes and rock out in your cool new ride!
