For JOTS....about your dad.

I'm often curious about what most dads are doing. When I see your daddy with you, I wonder "is this normal, regular dad behavior?" I'm not sure. I suppose every dad is different. What I do know is your dad is exceptional, in my eyes and I believe God has blessed your life in ways you cannot yet understand, with your father. When I recently asked him what he likes most about being a dad, he said, "the kids. I like the kids." Another thing I know, is he is a man of action who shows his love in tangible ways every single day. Here are some things I hope you'll remember.
Your dad:
Wanted 5 children, each of you anticipated with delight.
Is willing to work day and night, literally to make sure you have all you need.
Freely turns over every dime of his income to take care of his family.
Watches kid movies on Sundays rather than sports.
Excels at playing, can roll around with you on the playroom floor for hours.
Will take the time to pull his 6 year old daughter aside for a long chat the first time he hears her say her legs are fat.
Sits down in tiny plastic chairs in that daughter's bedroom when she invites him into play, rather than relaxing on the comfortable couch.
Sweeps up the mess after dinner every night, and helps with all the dishes.
Spends enough time to get to know you well and love you for your uniqueness.
Never, ever complains about the demands of a larger family.
Will sit and do crafts with scissors and construction paper with you.
Can fix, build, modify anything and takes the time to glue and repair your broken toys.
Demonstrates love for your mom every day in your presence, which gives you security.
Tells the truth, does not cut corners, and takes his duty to his family seriously.
Gladly sacrifices personal desires so he can have more time with you.
A few things you can be grateful for this Thanksgiving, little ones.
