Isn't it amazing....

That when I go to any one of my faucets in my house I simply turn it on and get clean, drinkable water, warm or cold, any time of day or night?
We are not among the millions of people dying every year from unsanitary water, most of which are children under the age of 5.

That when it is 4 degrees outside, all I have to do is push a button and my furnace kicks on, warming our home to a comfortable and safe temperature?
We are not one of the families forced make the choice between paying their rent, and paying for heat.

That when I am ready to go to sleep, I have a nice warm bed with soft blankets and sheets?
We are not in the position of some soldiers who are deployed, that may sleep on little more than a mat on the ground.

That my husband has steady employment and a career that provides for all members of our family?
He is not one of the men who were laid off work today and do not know how or where they will earn thier next paycheck.

That I have a vehicle that is reliable and large enough to transport our family?
We do not need to depend on public transportation to take our children where they need to go.

Thinking of this today as I turn on the water, feel the warmth of the heat in my home, lie down in my bed, miss my husband who is working late, and turn the key to my car. What I have is so much more than enough.
