Greener Dining

Our family's napkin consumption can be huge. 6 per meal, plus a few for those especially messy eaters who need an extra, or those compulsively-neat types who can not have a dribble of milk land outside their cereal bowl without anxiously wiping it up with 3 or 4 napkins (who knows where they get this stuff??)
I could not take it any longer. All those trees being sacrificed for little Deutsch hands to wipe, crumple, and waste.
Here is our solution:

A pretty little basket set by the table, full of washcloths, that can be used, and thrown into the already-massive-no-matter-what heap of lanudry I have to do.
It's just like those Japanese restaurants where they hand you a nice warm cloth to wipe your hands before they serve you a meal. Dining Japanese-style in Deutschland, super fun.

So green of you ...and not a bad idea since so often I must run for a washcloth anyway!!

you go, my tree-hugging friend! i did that at one point, although now they are now lost in the depths of storage. so, we've been using paper towels once again. you have inspired me to try to dig my washrags out again.

I love it...I've been thinking of getting cloth napkins myself. You helped put me over the edge.
Rock on.
