I get so confused.

I like to be inspired.
I tend to gravitate toward people (and blogs) that challenge and inspire me. I like to watch the lives of good, quality people unfold. I like thought provoking topics and observing honest, genuine people navigating the waters of life. I have learned so much from blog friends. People I don't even know have changed my life.
I only have time for a handfull of blogs in my day. Which is fine, as I am much more the fewer, closer friends type of person. And, I feel strongly about being very selective with the influences I allow in my life.

That being said, I get all confused when I'm blogging.

Who exactly is this for again? The readers are varied. Family, friends, acquaintences.

I started blogging as a personal record for our family. But as I got going, I found the keyboard to be a great place for me to "process." I've never journaled for myself before, and I hate to write with a pen because it hurts my hand, and typing things out and putting words to the thoughts floating through my mind is pretty theraputic, and clarifying.

But, opening up a personal journal for others to see is a bit strange. It leaves a person wide open for people's judgements and perceptions about sacred places. I don't know that everyone needs to see all my processes.
The truth is this is a very challenging phase of life for me, and it happens to be the phase in which I began blogging. I have 5 kids ages 6 and under. Enough said.

BUT,
If it were not for the transparency of the few, remarkable women I follow in blogland, I would not be who I am today. I have been inspried. I have been challenged. I have also been comforted by the fact that I am not alone many times as they have openly shared their struggles.

SO,
What now?
I'm not sure how to proceed, a family record, a personal journal, both, neither? Shall I do tips and recipes and the joke of the day? Pictures and events only?
No matter what, I will never again post an entry without a photo of the kids for grandma (did that once, got scolded.)

People's blogs all look so different.

Talk of things like 'increased traffic' and 'comment collecting' make me want to run into the night and close up shop. That is so not what this is about for me.
Bob says I should just blog away, and who cares what people think. Write whatever I feel like writing. Maybe he's right.
Most of all, I just want to do this:
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
And watch for this:
Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise. Some of the things I'm pondering at the moment that led me to talk about the weather (rainy today)....
Maybe I should ask, what kind of blog do you like to read?

i like to read your kind...i'm not into ones that look pretty (although yours happens to be pretty!), or into ones that have "lots of traffic". i like how yours is real and shares your heart and touches places in my own heart. i'm looking to be challenged...not entertained. there is enough "empty entertainment" around already.

Hello?
Tap tap tap
I know you're there.....I see you. Okay, I can't actually see you, but I do know you're there.
I'll wait for you to share what kind of blog you like to read before I move on....but I hope you do it quickly because I've got something super cool to share.
Thank you for those e mails too from those of you who are too private to comment publicly. ; ) You are very nice indeed.

I like the "Transparent Tisha" blog... see the double-T's, how cool is that? Sounds and looks a lot better than "Opaque Tisha".

Yours is one of the ones I read to be "challenged" and "inspired"! I LOVE to log on for my daily dose of "Tisha's life!" So, with that being said, "Blog on!"

A wise woman once said to me (when I started my blog) that I shouldn't worry what people think about my blog. It's my blog, and it should reflect me. I think you need to take your own advice. Blog on girly.

I love your transparency. It inspires me. You have great thoughts and fun pictures. As I told you, I'm not always transparent on my blog, as I also keep a journal. Thanks for sharing your heart, your passion, your struggles, your joys. You are an amazing woman.
