I was tempted to say it was a tough week.

VBS had us on the go all week, and since we live far from the church, we spent long hours out and about running errands rather than coming back home. There was a lot of this: It's cumbersome to take 2 in diapers, plus a 3 year old out for many shopping excursions, plus the drop off and pick up of the VBS kids, which involved a Bjorn, and an umbrella stroller for each exchange. I sure felt like doing some whining. That was until I checked in on the drought situation in Ethiopia today and found pictures of these mothers with their children. As it turns out, my week wasn't so tough afterall.
I read about someone's fabulous idea to have an "Eat In" week. Rather than the usual restaurant outing our families might enjoy over the next several of days, we could eat at home and donate the money that would have been spent eating out to these who are desperate for food. What a small, small sacrifice on our parts that could do big, big things for people who have such extraordinary need.

I'm asking myself how often has our family ever gone without food?
The answer: mere hours.
We can not fathom, but we can help.
