I don't know if I should admit this....

First grade curriculum is really fascinating. How fun is it to learn about Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia? The Pharaohs, hieroglyphics, pyramids and burial methods...the cradle of civilization, the Tigris and Euphrates rivers....all very exciting stuff! And, that's just the history. In literature, we just finished reading Treasure Island and next we're onto Gulliver's Travels. I'm pretty sure I bought cliff notes for most of the "classics" I was expected to read in school, but strangely now, it's truly enjoyable. I'm loving it. I might want to keep homeschooling forever, just for the education I'm receiving ;-) Why didn't I get this much out of school this much when I was younger?

Oh, and did I mention Awanas? They memorize scripture, I memorize scripture. Seriously now, these kids are doing me a huge favor with all their learning.

I feel the same way everyday and I'm homeschooling a Kindergartner and a Preschooler. Isn't it such a blast!?!?!
