We were going to keep it private.

But it keeps coming up -
He needs a few days off work, then will need to take it easy at work for a few more.
Had to tell his supervisor and co-workers.
We needed to schedule a sitter for the day of the procedure - to be done in Denver.
Had to cancel a camping trip with friends for early June and reschedule for August.
Can't make book club because my husband will be laid up that night unable to care for the kids.

Some people had a hunch, even when we tried to keep it secret, without outright lying.
Others knew for sure.

I have no doubt the criticism will be there - we've been through enough to know this will not win us the Most Popular vote. So, I have felt some hesitation over sharing our path, change of heart, convictions, what led us to this place. I'm sure I will be labeled by some who don't understand. Bad wife. Feel free to take that up with Bob.

As I thought it over, I came to the conclusion that most likely those who are judgemental about it will be the same ones who were already judging our life and choices.
Oh, who knows? Maybe some new folks will join the contemptuous chorus. Alright then. It can't be a fun place to sit.

So, I'm just going to get it out there once and for all and stop being concerned with people's reactions.

The Man is having his "permanent sterilization procedure" reversed next week.

It doesn't always work - but his situation looks good and he has a Dr. who specializes in this area and is very skilled.

There it is.
If you need to pick your jaw up off the floor, now would be a good time to do that. ☺

Wow! So cool! My hubby mentioned he would do it if the circumstances were right... but we're waiting for God's leading! I'm so excited for you! And I can't wait to hear how everything goes!

I think I've told you - one of my dearest friends is a mother to 10 kids, all of her own! She is an inspiration. You too, my friend, are an inspiration. And since you're such a great mom - you oughta have more kids! =)

Thank you Lisa. Yes, I do remember that family! I recall pretty much everything you told me about them because of my love for super-sized broods :) Thank you for your kind words. Means a lot to me.

Whoah... I was not expecting to read about this here so soon! :) In any case, I wish you guys well in this venture. Crossing my fingers that it's successful for you and if not, let me know and I'll bring a puppy back for you in July.

I am so NOT surprised. You guys are awesome parents... and maybe with 10 (or more), you'll get group discounts at museums and amusement parks! I hope your arms are full again my friend.

Haha Sandy! Oh that darn dog! I'll gladly take the babydogy....if no human baby comes my way. Let's give it a year or so :)
You just never know when I might drop the juiciest details of our ultra-exciting lives into cyberspace for (((all))) to see. ☺ It's a nice coffee time conversation topic for my relatives that are aghast! Leave it to that crazy couple Bob and Tisha to provide plenty of gossip material.

Thank you Katy - your feedback is priceless because you know me so well as a mom - and you guys are such thoughtful parents.

Wow Tisha. I have to tell you that as I read your blog the anticipation was building up in me and I keep think are they....could they be...can they....and then I got to the bottom and tears came to my eyes. I really can't explain that except to say I'm so very happy for you. David and I tried to have a baby in 2004 and 2005 and it did not work out for us but I know I have something in my being that really could not and even after my surgery still would love to have another baby. I have been reading your blog for awhile and I know that this is something you regretted doing so I'm so excited that it can be done and you are doing it :)
You are a great mother and any child that enters the Deutschland is blessed and will be an amazing blessing to others.

PS By the way I'm all for growing the childrens ministry anyway we can. :)

Love yah,
Bob and the family will be in our prayers.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you all. I know of a family who had three more after their reversal :)

Glad B got to spend some time with your hubby. He picked out the outfits himself which I thought was too cute :) :)

You inspire me with your blog....

Oh man, I step away from my computer for one weekend and I miss all the important news!!!
I kind of thought you guys might go this direction some day. Cool! Maybe we'll be expecting something good at the same time some day. You never know what blessings will come.

Erin, good for you for stepping away from your computer for a weekend!!! Great job girl. Really, that is THE news here, now isn't it? And thank you :)

Chrissy, you know you need to know right away so you can share your unique opinion on such important subjects. No one will tell the truth ((with love)) to me the way you will. Thanks ♥

I think it's great! And if you need any further "validation", read Family Driven Faith. (not that you should need any validation) :-)
