That it is perfectly acceptable, expected even, to go to church on Sunday as a family, then go home and simply spend time together.
On Little house, highschoolers don't need to come back at 6:00 pm for youth group. Middle school girls don't meet at 3:00 for their Bible study. The family didn't split up and segregate according to age throughout the course of the rest of the day to do various church activities. There was no band practice or soccer games or little league or meetings on Sundays either.
They were able to enjoy a true Day of Rest before the work week began again. A reprieve. Free from expectation or feeling that they were not engaging enough, serving enough, doing enough, busy enough.
Call me old fashioned, but that sounds heavenly to me.

heard a guy at the homeschool conf. say that "God's plan for the youth group was called: family"
I loved that!
Josh keeps fighting FOR this. We understand exactly how you feel!
I am totally on board with this. Sundays should be reserved. We accomplish this 85% of the time, but the other 15% - ick!
We watch a Little House on a DAILY basis around this house:) Love it!
I would like to exchange links with your site tishadeutsch.blogspot.com
Is this possible?
